While Both Glasgow and Edinburgh have their own charm, culture and unique urban appeal, there’s a constant debate on which one is the best city in Scotland.

A comparison between Glasgow and Edinburgh should not be considered a matter of necessity, but rather a formality. Both cities are only around an hour away from one another, which is why, in my opinion, they are both essential parts of any trip to Scotland. Scotland’s two largest, most diverse and most populous cities are Glasgow and Edinburgh. While they share a similar history, both cities experience their own struggles, produce their own kind of culture, and welcome people from all walks of life. Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and the fourth largest city in the United Kingdom. Both cities continuously produce a variety of cultures, which they have in common. While Glasgow was named city of culture in 1990, it remains one of the world’s most vibrant and diverse cultural hubs today. It hosts traditional and contemporary art and music centres. Glasgow’s cultural exports are extensive, ranging from the much-loved Billy Connolly to Hollywood heartthrob Gerard Butler. Edinburgh, the city of literature, hosts the world’s largest book and arts festival and is home to its own cultural community. Throughout the annual Edinburgh festival, the city is filled with some of the world’s most diverse and talented performers. With all sorts of modern amenities including the facility to get their hands on gym equipment on lease! With companies who offer fitness equipment (companies like Hirefitness are now supplying in Scotland and other parts of the UK as well) on lease to various parts of the country, there seems to be nothing that this country does not have! Apart from regular travels, many who would like to settle for a more peaceful way of life than they are currently living, the quaint country does seem like a viable option to even settle down!

So, which City has the best attractions and cultural events? Which one offers you your favorite food/drink?
